Note: This week's lessons are due by Thursday evening, next week.

The deadline to resubmit all proofreading check documents, assigned documents, document processing tests, and skillbuilding is the end of the day Thursday of next week—NO EXCEPTIONS!!

The best way to improve your grade is to work on skillbuilding to increase your speed and accuracy. Then repeat any practice tests with low grades, and recreate any proofreading check documents to earn back lost proofreading points. Take this warning very seriously. It could make the difference between a pass and a fail for some of you.

Any late tests remaining must be completed by the end of class Friday next week. Anyone who has missing documents or tests will earn a zero for any missing work.

Some students think they can request an incomplete if they are not finished or are behind schedule. ABSOLUTELY NO INCOMPLETES WILL BE GIVEN FOR THIS REASON—NO EXCEPTIONS. Check Cell C1 for your grade to date. The timing speed entered in Row 7 is not necessarily the same net speed (3-error limit) you will earn when you take your final timings, but it is the best net speed you have earned to date on your skillbuilding. Your final timings will replace the speeds indicated in Row 7 when you take them this week or next. Late penalties are pending until the last day of class.

We will take our last document processing test on reports at the end of class next Friday. Plan to stay the entire time as needed. You should study the reports you will type in Week 15 so that you will be well prepared for the test.

On p. 65, the blue callout next to the report subtitle, "Recent Trends in the Business World," indicates a 14-pt. font size. It should say 12-pt. Please make the change in your book.

  • When you finish 26-1 and have corrected all typos and formatting errors, click GDP, Return to GDP. Click Yes to save the changes you made to the document.
  • You now must decide whether to score or not score the document. If you are sure you have proofread your document and corrected all errors, click Yes to score the document.
  • If this document is a Proofreading Check and you are not ready to have your document scored, click No. An unscored attempt is never counted against you since only scored attempts are considered to determine a proofreading grade.
